Music Academy

A school for training elementary to high-school-aged students in music and performing arts. An all-encompassing roof allows for programs to bleed into the next, prompting students to use the entire building, indoor and outdoor, innovatively for learning, creation and exhibition.

Arts Complex


A walkable cultural and performing arts complex, for education and entertainment in the heart of the city. The complex is a part of a larger masterplan for an arts district, but it employs a strategy of interior density to make it stand out as an arts district in its own right. The complex houses three PACs, an art museum and educational facilites for the arts.

Laboratory Facility

This Y-shaped laboratory facility houses five agencies with vastly different requirements.  By using tools like smart circulatory paths and shared public spaces, the building is able to separate functions efficiently but also bring user groups together to create a cohesive spatial experience.

During the concepting phase for the design of this school, the project team became interested in creating unprogrammed spaces where students could take ownership of their learning experience. Shown are studies for the expansion of cirulatory paths, outdoor spaces and common areas into traditional spaces like classrooms, libraries and labs.

Training Academy

This project is a training academy for police cadets. It features a glass marquee building housing cadet dormitories, and a stone base which houses classrooms, cafeteria, auditoriuma and admistrative spaces. Twi buildings housing the gym and firing range respectively connect to the main building. Other out uildings including a stable are distributed around the expansive site.

Office/COEX Complex

This complex houses three office towers, a performing arts center, a department store and a convention and exhibition building. The department store occupies the first level below grade and connects to the subway system adjacent to the site. This allowed for a 2-level pedestrain experience across site. The strategy for the site as a whole was one of free flowing paths around all six buildings while alternating between lowr-rise and high rise. The ground plane is surrendered to the pedestrian experience by providing greenery, parklets and covered pavillions.
